Since cycling regularly from Preston Park to Pelham House I have realised that on most trips I am now getting to work quicker on my bike, no traffic, no car parking charges and lovely sunshine (most of the time) you can't beat that. Plus I am getting muscley legs!!!

Well, the second week went a bit haywire as Wimbledon was on and nothing else got much of a look-in. I did get out about four times that week though and I really missed the cycling on the days I didn't manage. One spin-off is that I've been so buzzing with energy that I've joined the local tennis...

Day 2 of cycling resulted in a puncture! - Being a regular cyclist normally around Brighton, I am quite suprised at the poor state of the roads (ie potholes), plus the cycle paths! - the cycle paths especially, glass, tarmac ripped/holes etc, not great for a road bike :(

Last Tuesday I had dropped some Cycle Challenge information in to Glyndebourne, one of the participant organisations, and as I was leaving I came across a bloke on a bike reading a map. I love cycling to work in the morning. Whizzing down the cycle lane past all the cars gives me a silly sense of satisfaction. People just don't know how much fun it is to cycle. I'm really looking forward to the Challenge and encouraging my work mates to give it a go.
